Pookai Sends Third Shipment of 2005

ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Pookai Book Project sent 43 books, toys and other items along with $340 to the Angsoeng Library in its third shipment of 2005.
The money is part of the Pookai Book Project’s $2,000 pledge this year and keeps the organization on track on its 2005 promise.
The books are Five Little Ducks by Crown Books; Garfield by Jim Davis; The Most Wonderful Doll in the World by Phyllis McGinley; I Can Read About Birds by Ellen Schultz; I Can Read About Weather by Robyn Supraner; Bats by Lisa deMauro; Discovering Science Secrets by Sandra Markle; When Hen Went Shopping by Fay Robinson; Jack and the Beanstalk by Ruth Ainswort; Forest and Jungles by Ray Baines; Mystery of the Lost Ring by Robyn Supraner; Reptiles Do The Strangest Things by Leonora & Arthur Hornblow (2 copies); The Magic Spectacles by Lillian Moore; Bunnies and Rabbits by Townsend; Christmas Is A Time of Giving by Joan Walsh Anglund; The Beast in Miss Rooney’s Room by Patricia Riley Giff; The Hundred Penny Box by Sharon Bell Mathis; Cave Boy by Cathy & Mark Dubowski; Discovering the Seasons – Spring by Louis Santrey; Discovering the Seasons – Summer by Louis Santrey; The Pyramids by John Weeks (3 copies); King Arthur by Howard Pyle; In the Night Kitchen by Maurice Sendak; Can’t You Sleep Little Bear? The Pookai Project’s mission is to help the restoration of Cambodia by gathering funds and need-specific books for the Angsoeng Library. These donations will promote literacy, accelerate education, speed economic development and empower Cambodians to take their place on the world stage. Its first client is the Angsoeng Library, run by leading journalist Chandara Lor. |
